Typical responses when driving licence cancelled.

  • I have a gold licence you know.  (In NSW Australia this means they have just paid for a licence for 5 years.)

  • I have been driving for 50 years you know!

  • I have never had an accident!

  • I can't survive without my car!

  • How could you do this to me?

  • I will see my Solicitor/Lawyer about this.

  • I am not going to give up my licence.

  • I might as well jump off a cliff if I can't drive!

  • All of this doesn’t make sense! Your past driving history is irrelevant. It doesn't matter how long the person has been driving. The only thing that matters is what your driving performance, cognitive function and state of health is like now!
